Santa has made his list, wrapping the gifts and packing the sled . . . we are in the midst of the mad seasonal rush to buy the perfect gift.

Since is it more blessed to give than receive, let's think about the gifts we have given over the years.

What gift have you given that was the most . . .

1. Unique - I'm tatting all the time and most of what I do I give it away.  May be this is my unique gift.  Tatting is not a very known lace and people are always in awe when they see something tatted.

2. Life Changing - One of my cousins was undecided about what to study when she entered in the university and one day while visiting her and the family I was talking a lot about my job as an Oncology Nurse.  Later to my surprise she started Nursing School.  She is now a Psychiatric Nurse and loving it.  I guess I inspired her to change and take a decision.

3. Difficult -   I'm thinking about this one.  I can give easily so it's no difficult for me to give a gift.

4. Funny -  My hubby is always talking that I'm funny and have a good sense of humor.  May be that's my funny gift.

5. Memorable - I know this is about giving gifts.  But here I have to talk about a memorable gift I receive.  It was anonimous and was the most beautiful thing I received.  Three years ago I was admited with dehydratation due to a severe hemorrage and was in the bordeline of passing to the "other side".  I received 4 pints of blood and that is what I think has been the most memorable gift I ever received.  One that saved my life.  If I could reciprocate back I'll donate blood.  I can't because of my health condition but that's a gift I'll never forget!

It is nice to know that you appreciated your gift of blood. I donate blood and often wonder who it has helped.

It really takes a special kind of person to do this...

Your #5 is so special. I give blood and always wonder if I helped anyone and if it is worth the hassle...you gave me my answer. Thank you. Great answers and a very nicely done page.

Tatting? You tat, i haven't seen any of that thread work since I was small. My grandmother did it, but she passed before I was old enough to learn. I would love to learn how to do it.

The gift of life is never small. You were indeed blessed to receive it.

Merry CHRISTmas!
