Happy BD to me! Today I turned 38! I'm so proud of it! lol Yes! I'm very happy of my age. Why? Because I think BDs are blessings from God and you should thanks Him for another year that He gives you the opportunity to be alive. You see... When your health is always in the borderline with death you learn to appreciate every single day that you're alive. When doctors have low expectations about you (like they always told my mom that I was never be over 12 years old) you learn to love each of those extra days! Hubby took me to the Cairo International Book Fair and we walk like 6 hours so we're both exhausted! We bought a few books and will return next week to buy some more. But for now my body is asking for a hot shower and a cool bed! Have a great day and thanks so much for the BD wishes!
Okay in 11 days is my BD. So I want a lot of gifts. If not I'll pout and stop breathing until I turn blue or purple. lol You can leave some luv at the widget on the Guestbook or here.

| | Her 1st BD with a theme of Tinker Bell. |
Well, mom is 57 today! Yeah! But mom looks younger to her age. Here are a few pics I found and I'm posting them here. Later I'll show her that ALL the World have seen her! Her name is Luz Esther. _______________________________________________ This is mom with her first precious child. Isn't it a gorgeous baby?! So tiny, so perfect!... Ahem... I forgot the blog is not about me but about mom. ____________________________________________ This is her in 1971. It's the pic in a driving license. I can't believe how big her hair and those cat-framed glases. LOL I must have been 1 year old. _________________________________________ This is mom in a visit the the Ripley's Believe It or Not from Orlando, FL. Mom was very skinny at that time. She loves to travel and we have been in tons of places. ALmost every year she has a trip planned. Now I'm planning fo rher to go with me to Egypt, but she says that when she returns back will be with me 'cause she's afraid of traveling for so many hours alone! ______________________________________________ This is at work. She works part time in the Pentecostal Bible Collage of PR. She's the secretary of the Librarian. Her "boss" is my sister Letty and she's a good boss. But actually my mom only works a few hours per week. She's retired from the Universtity of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, where she was a secretary in the Library System. Due to health problems she retired and now has this mini-part time to help with the medicines cost. _______________________________________ Here is with my sister Letty. Mom was a littler more chubby in this pic buit was in a time that the doctors were dealing with her diabetes for the 1st time. Now she's much better. _________________________________________ Mom has a very good humor. Here is she with a bag I bought her. Why she put it on her hear, it's a mystery! LOL ________________________________ Her hobbies are plenty but one of them is gardening. She loves to attend her roses and orchids, among other plants. Everytime that a plant bloom she tells me to take a pic of it. I need to sit with her and teach her how to blog so she can show everybody her flowers and dolls. She is also a doll collector and Betty Boop collector. _______________________________ Here is with her new car. It was like 2 months ago that she got rid of the Ford Explorer she had for 10 years! Now she has a Nissan Sentra of 2006. I think this is the 1st time that she has a small car. She always had big cars, including a pick up, mini van, station wagon and the Explorer. So Happy Birthday MOM!!!
Well, is not exactly Tinker Bell. Today was Jayvette's BD. Her 1st BD and the theme was Tinker Bell. She came dressed as a cute little fairy! With wings and all!!! My sister Letty is the one that know them well. They are members in Letty's church. So we were invited. Also Letty was borrowing the Projector to make a Slideshow of Jay's pics from birth until now. It was something very cute. From her 1st day at home thru her 1st bath, steps, etc... As a suvenir each attendant received a ball point pen decorated with Tinker Bell motifs in a nice felt bag with Jay's name and date. For me this was the 1st time in YEARS that I go to a birthday party and also the 1st time that I go somewhere after being release from the hospital. SOme friends of the family that knew I was in the hospital were asking me how I feel... I was a little jumpy and after awhile I was very tire and had pain in the chest (not too much) and in the area where the catheterism was made. That area is nothering me too much. I can barely walk straight. If this continues like this I'll have to go to the doctor. *sigh* But in general I had a very nice time shairng with some friends and my sister and mom. You can see all the pictures in the Flickr set: Jayvette's BD.

Since 2002 (I think) I started a tradition of writting a pattern for my birthday and share it with all my friends. Last year, tho I made it I didn't post it because I didn't have access to a pc then. I'll try to do it later during the day... But this year I won't do the same. And even if my birthday will be in 22 days I'm posting it from now. The pattern is uploaded already in my web site and it's called: BD Snowflake '06 I hope that all of you enjoy it and make tons of them, thinking of me.
