I was today looking at the CMT Music Award winners and saw that Brad Paisley won an award in "Comedy". I went to see the video and got it on YouTube. LOVE IT!!!! It's so true that is so funny. lol Enjoy it!
Jane Eborall started a challenge called "Tat It and See". She will release a pattern bit by bit and we're suppose to tat it as she post the bits. The blog for this challenge can be found here.
For this one I'll be using DMC Petra #8 in ivory color.
This was the 1st bit:
And here is the 2nd bit: Nothing fancy or difficult until now. But I think I need to practice my Split Rings. They look crappy today! Will keep you posted about this one.
I'm a little behind with challenges but I think today I'll catch up. This week theme at Picture Perfect was "A Song Title". The 1st song that came in mind was Preciosa", a popular Puerto Rican song about Puerto Rico's beauty and some political struggles. The song is in Spanish, but I'll try to translate it. The video is by Marc Anthony, who is Puerto Rican (actually New York-rican - a person born in NY from Puerto Rican parents). The song was easy to choose but not the picture. I have so many gorgeous photos of PR but I think this is my favorite. It's called "San Juan's Gate" and it's literally the gate of the city. San Juan is the capital city of PR and is surrounded by an antique wall. This spot was a strategical point of entering to the island and so the huge gates were made. I love it because of its beauty and significant, and I thought it was perfect for this song and challenge. The camera I used is a simple digital camera Kodak 310. I don't have (yet!) any fancy camera. Enjoy!
Preciosa (Beautiful) By: Rafael Hernandez
I know what are the enchantments Of my Beautiful Borinken That's why I love her so much And always I'll call her "Preciosa".
I know of her tanned females I know of the fragrance of their roses That's why to my rich land For ever I'll call her "Preciosa"
Island of the Caribe Island of the Caribe.
Borinken!
"Preciosa" call you the waves of the sea that bathe your shores. "Preciosa" by been a charm, by been an Eden. And you have the nobility of the Mother Land Spain And the encouraging song of the brave Taino indian you also have it.
"Preciosa" call you the bards that sing your story Doesn't matter that the tyrant treat you with black ill. "Preciosa" you will be without flags, without laurels and glories. "Preciosa, Preciosa" call you the sons of the Liberty!
Last night, around 3 am I was watching a program called I-Catch. They talk about the "new" trends on viral videos on the net. May be the program is old but here in Egypt I can't see nothing uptated except for the American news and morning shows that are transmited a day after. Anyway, I saw this video of a guy doing a Romanian song called Dragostea Din Tei and it's so funny! May be you all know about him. The video was made in 2006. Hubby and I have been watching it and a lot of variations. It's so catchy the music. I'm even dowloading it in Romanian and English. Is this the next "Macarena"?
Here is the original video:
And here is the Romanian group O-Zone singing the English version of the song.
Now I'll go to sleep singing "Nami, nami eh eh" Just a game with the words. Instead of Numa I sing Nami which means to sleep in Arabic. See? When my brain is asleep I do strange things. lol
This video is from 1987 and was filmed entirely in Old San Juan, the capital of PR. forgot about this video until a classmate sent it to me on Facebook. Pretty cool!
